I downloaded ASC for Windows yesterday and installed it. Then I spent quite a lot of time attempting to find how to do the most basic thing, moving units, without a bit of success. I've dug through what English documentation there is and searched the web but could not find any instructions on exactly how to get units to pay attention to a MOVE command.
The in game information says Space Bar is Move, but nothing happens when I click a unit and hit the space bar. What was "wrong" with the original Battle Isle click and click method for moving units? I played BI 2200 back in the 90's and it was quite a lot of fun, easy to jump right into and get to playing just by poking around the menus and other things in the interface.
If there's an English beginner's guide on how to move, attack etc. I sure couldn't find it anywhere.
The basic basics.

Re: The basic basics.
The first click with the left mousebutton selects the unit. The second left click (please hold the mousebutton*) shows you, what you can do with this unit. Normally the first button is to move the unit. All reachable fields will be marked with a green ring. A (third) leftclick an a field and the unit moves to this field.
*If you doesn´t hold the the mousebutton, the first order will be activated.
Instead of the second left click, you can press the spacabar to move this unit. All reachable fields will be marked with a green ring.
If a unit is selected, you should see the button panel an the right sight. If it isn´t there, you can activate it by clicking on "View" and "Button Panel" in the menu bar. In the button panel you can see all the orders you can give to the unit.

Re: The basic basics.
The tutorial campagn shows the basic movement commands. How to transport troops and use mines. But this game has a lot more to it than the old BI. Reaction fire rules make attacking a well prepaired enamy a lot more costly. There are all sorts of other nice features that make this a much better game as well.
But I am finding the ASC campaign much harder than the old BI campaigns.

Re: The basic basics.
An important strategy not explained as well is surrounding an enemy unit before attacking, as the surrounding units that didn't yet fire, boost the damage dealt by the attacking unit.
